Job Description:
Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Quality Manager (QM) will promote a culture of quality and standards of excellence for the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) recipient, donor and their families. In collaboration with key BMT Program stakeholders (Allogeneic/Autologous Medical Directors, Stem Cell Lab Director, Nurse Managers, Coordinators, staff etc.) the QM will be required to promote changes to improve quality and patient safety throughout the BMT program. In addition, the QM is responsible for oversight related to BMT quality requirements and compliance, including Cellular therapy, as required by various regulatory agencies including Health Canada, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), and the Centre for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) for the purposes of seeking and maintaining accreditation.

Job Requirements:
- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, Lab Technology or recognized equivalent required
- Experience in Program planning and evaluation methodology skills
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated experience in effective management of change
- Demonstrated understanding of a culture of Patient Safety
- Six (6) years practical and related experience in health care or regulatory industry
- Understanding of BMT Terminology and processes preferred
- Clinical trials experience preferred
- Knowledge regarding Safety of Human Cells, Tissue and Organs for Transplantation Regulations – preferred
- Knowledge regarding Canadian Standards Association (CSA) and Foundation for the Accreditation Cellular Therapy (FACT) standards governing the collection, processing and transplantation of cellular therapy products – preferred
- Completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, Lab Technology or recognized equivalent – preferred
