Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Participate in teaching, educational, safety and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results
  • Operate, troubleshoot and ensure ultrasound, medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Perform cross-functional/site responsibilities as assigned
  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures in UHN/MSH main ultrasound departments and/or Emergency Departments as required, including midnight and call shifts.

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized post diploma Ultrasound program, or recognized equivalent
  • Registered with the CMRITO
  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB) and Abdomen (AB) and/or Active membership/registration with Sonography Canada
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively as a team member
  • Completion of a BCLS program, Level II: Basic Rescuer certification
  • Demonstrated maintenance of CME credits
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent hand eye co-ordination
  • Effective body language and people management skills with the ability to demonstrate sensitivity when dealing with any patient contact situation
  • Effective time management skills, ability to organize work and set priorities
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
  • Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions
  • Excellent problem recognition and problem solving skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
