Job Description:

The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for up to two full-time tenure stream appointments in Finance. The appointments will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, and will commence July 1, 2022, or shortly thereafter.

Job Responsibilities:

• For these positions, excellence in research is evidenced primarily by the job-market paper and additional research papers or publications submitted with the application, a research statement, and strong letters of reference from referees of high standing.
• The successful candidates for these positions are expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level, and to publish articles in internationally recognized top-tier academic journals in the field of Finance.
• We seek individuals who have  published in, and, have works in progress meeting the standards of the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies and journals of similar caliber and international standing.
• Further evidence of research excellence is provided by indication of participation in top conferences, and presenting research at other highly ranked schools.

Job Requirements:

• Applicants must demonstrate excellence in teaching, including a strong demonstrated ability to integrate both theory and practice;
• Evidence of effective communication and presentation skills;
• A willingness to undertake graduate supervision;
• Skillful use of engaging activities that will stimulate and challenge the intellectual capacity of faculty and students;
• A demonstrated mastery of their subject area.
• This will be demonstrated by the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application including a strong teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations, as well as strong endorsements from referees.
• Applicants must have prior experience teaching MBA students.
• Select applicants will be invited to present their research to the Rotman School faculty and students as part of the interview process.
