Job Description: Under general supervision, but in accord with specific procedures, controls the parking of vehicles in University of Toronto parking lots. Job Responsibilities: Informs the parking supervisor, parking control officer or university of toronto police in cases of illegally parked vehicles or unusual occurrences; Controls entry of vehicles into an assigned parking lot, identifying permit holders or special guests, rejecting those not authorized to park; Collects money from parking lot users at a predetermined rate, making change as necessary and maintaining a cash float; When necessary calls the university policy in the event of an unusual occurrence or dispute; and Balances cash collected with ticket stubs and delivers cash and receipts to me supervisor or to the police office at the end of the shift; Directs and assigns parking lot users to parking spaces; When required spreads sand or salt over icy areas or parking lot; removes minor obstacles and debris from parking lot; maintains the tidiness of the kiosk; Other related duties as required. Job Requirements: Education: Completion of grade 12 or equivalent combination of education and experience. Other: Good oral English communication skills; Must be courteous, tactful and use discretion in dealing with the public; Ability to handle cash; Physical ability to service parking lost and cope with inclement weather conditions; Must be neat and tidy in appearance. Experience: Experience in dealing with the public and handling cash, making change and balancing.
