Univision Internships – Multimedia Digital Journalist

Job Description:

As the Digital ambassador within the newsroom, this candidate should be able to coordinate and lead with the Assignment Desk the content to be published in digital platforms with a Digital First mindset.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the production of digital content for station(s) in different formats (Video, article pages, photo galleries and social media posts)
• Publishes content on multiple digital platforms, including mobile, online and social media outlets
• Creates new and original content for all the platforms for the market with a local and hyperlocal orientation aligned with and enhances station brand
• Identifies news stories of the day and plans coverage that is appropriate for various digital media platforms (website, mobile apps, newsletters, and social media)
• Does reporting with diverse local sources to support stories and articles in different formats
• Repurposes existing news content. Curates, edits, publishes and manages a full range of content coming from the TV newsroom and other markets
• Demonstrates results for the application of local and Multimarket strategies and creative technics to drive audience loyalty
• Writes and edits articles and headlines appealing to the audience and according to the SEO strategies
• Communicates with the newsroom what’s trending online and help find sources and interesting topics for digital news consumption for all the platforms under the local brands
• As the Digital ambassador within the newsroom, this role is accountable for integrating capability within the linear team to think and act digitally, generating engaging, compelling and timely content that will result in an increase of our digital footprint and ultimately in a growing audience and market share
• Delivers compelling content using current production and distributions web, social media and APP tools

• Solid news judgment
• Staying current on digital industry trends
• Bilingual with the ability to write in Spanish is a must
• Must be willing to work from office or home office in Dallas, TX
• Proven knowledge and strong tactical training/skills
• Candidate must be flexible and willing to work varied schedules, including weekends and holidays
• Sound analysis and creativity

Qualification & Experience:

• Experience in Journalistic Media; Broadcast environment a plus
• Experience working in team environments
• 3 years’ progressive experience in digital media content and news production
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or equivalent experience
• Solid news judgment
• 1-3 years’ experience building and managing multiple channels, optimization and best practices
