Job Description:

The selectee of this position serves as a Program Specialist. You will be responsible for analyzing OGC office procedures to identify more efficient and effective methods for accomplishing objectives; preparing & maintaining the OGC budget; entering & tracking financial obligations; property records; procuring supplies & services; HR Liaison; and partnering with the Office of Procurement to act as a Contracting Officers Representative.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Program Specialist at the GS-0301-14 level, some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • You will serve as a consultant and expert advisor to OGC leadership on decision making for the OGC budgetary, procurement, financial and administrative operations and performance.
  • You will analyze OGC office procedures to identify more efficient and effective methods for accomplishing objectives in a manner consistent with
  • Department of Justice (DOJ) implementation/dissemination of procedural or policy changes which affect office operations through effective written and oral communications.
  • Prepares and monitors procurement packages in support of OGC mission and program need, ensuring compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • You will be responsible for preparing the OGC annual budget for review by the Deputy General Counsel and the General Counsel.
  • Monitors the execution of the budget to ensure that funds are obligated and spent in a timely and effective manner in support of authorized management objectives.
  • Serves as the OGC Human Resources liaison with applicable USMS Divisions.

Job Requirements:

  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation.
  • All qualification requirements for this position must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).
  • Must pass a pre-employment security investigation and drug screening.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
