Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Experience and knowledge of professional discipline is required
- Ensure WO user statuses are properly maintained throughout the lifecycle of the work order.
- Manage backlog to ensure work orders are planned based off priority and required end date.
- Solid interpersonal communication skills – both written and verbal, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
- Review and promote/reject all new notifications into your work center through the group approval process.
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders for completion by their Required End Date.
- Adhere to maintenance business processes as outlined in Maintenance Planning and Control (MPC) by using approved systems (SAP, Prometheus, etc.), tools and standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate all required planning/scheduling routines.
- Ensure work orders are planned and ready to be executed prior to the required end date as determined through the notification.
- Establish and maintain work relationships with the various key plant stakeholders including supervisors, schedulers, superintendents, crew members, etc.
- Work with Plant contacts and OSHE Members to complete all safety requirements (ie: JHA’s, PHR’s, SWP’s, Lift Plans, etc)
- Monitor KPIs and actively strive toward plant targets.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft Office and related software products.
- Demonstrate open and transparent dialogue in all aspects of work.
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience in Supervising or Planning role
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic/Millwright certification would be an asset
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and work well with others in a team environment.
- Follow Vale’s Safety Policies, Programs and Legislative Standards.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Must be obsessed with safety and risk.
- Experience in the mining/construction environment in maintenance would be an asset.
- Possess a College Diploma in Mechanic/Millwright
