Job Description: The general accountant is responsible for the general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation and monthly accounting closing cycle, with special focus on the portion related to leases accounting under IFRS – International Financial Standards. This includes everything from regulatory compliance with accounting standards and practices to working with the Chief Accountant to ensure an accurate closing. Job Responsibilities: Handle supervision of all entities leases portfolio, including the management of the relationship with landlord’s Administration Department. Collaborate with HQ on all monthly tasks and reporting related to Real State Accounting. Includes the final supervision/analytical review of all lease accounting entries booked centrally by the team located in HQ on a monthly basis. Responsible for day to day finance and account operations for a portfolio of 100+ retail leases within USA, Puerto Rico and Canada Ensure timely closing of accounts. Monthly accrual/prepayment reconciliation for all Real State Taxes Preparation of specific reports to Management related to leases portfolio Collaborates with the Chief Accountant on submitting the Monthly/Quarterly analytical review preparation Assists to the Chief Accountant on monthly closing controls Preparation of annual budget for leases, in collaboration with Head of Finance and Finance Director Assists to the Chief Accountant on Annual Account closing Collaboration in accounting related projects Job Requirements: Excellent Communication skills (presentation, written, verbal, and interpersonal) performance standards. Flexibility, proactiveness and initiative Preferable Audit experience Min 4 years’ experience in financial accounting, particularly in the Retail industry. Experience in Leases accounting is a plus.
