Job Description:

Directing purchasing programs and services; providing information and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines. To purchase products, supplies and services for the business. Meet with suppliers and wholesalers and arrange contracts that benefit the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee cooperation with travel agencies
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services for the US stores and office
  • Follow up on shipment and receiving goods
  • Ensure that purchases are based on competitive bidding and sufficient number of responsive quotations/proposals
  • Develops an overall vendor base which creates and sustains a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation, leveraging spend, and leveraging of technologies
  • Manages all activities that develop relationships with suppliers
  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the Inditex procurement policy in the US subsidiary, including the use of the SFI application SFI Purchases
  • Monitors vendors/subcontractors’ performance
  • Negotiate with vendors for goods and services, negotiating the best possible price and service guarantees
  • Development of internal procedures and policies to align local subsidiary activities with the Group policies

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to efficiently manage time and meet deadlines
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong quantitative analytical skills and an innovative approach to problem-solving

  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships quickly at all levels within the organization and with external contacts to foster trust and credibility while achieving key operating objectives
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in a business-related area
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in similar position, preferably in retail field
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Work experience with inventory planning, forecasting techniques, operation systems and budget control
